Dr. Rophie, a native of the Tampa Bay area graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis Tennessee. He completed externships at the Vision Education Foundation in Atlanta, Georgia and at St. Luke’s Cataract and Laser Institute in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Dr. Rophie has been in private practice since 1983. Dr. Rophie is a resident of Dunedin and resides with his wife Sharon, a doctor of audiology who has a private practice in Palm Harborhttp://www.sharonrophie.com/ . They have two grown children who are attending college. Dr. Rophie enjoys, fishing, scuba diving, music and cooking.
Dr. Rophie is a board certified optometric physician. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association, The Pinellas Optometric Association and the Better Vision Institute. Dr. Rophie has been an adjunct instructor of the optometric technician program of the SPJC.
Dr. Rophie is available to treat most eye problems that might arise from minor corneal abrasions to eye and lid infections, foreign bodies, dry eye, glaucoma and cataract management. For over 29 yrs. Dr. Rophie has been providing quality eye care using state-of-the-art equipment. Dr. Rophie will spend the time needed to make sure you receive a thorough exam in a non rushed manner and will take the time to make sure you understand your condition and treatment options and answer any questions you have.
