The Living Room on Main began with a simple phone call between a mother and a daughter; two like-minded ladies with lots of vision and can-do attitude. Mom (that’s me) owned a gift shop in downtown Dunedin and noticed a restaurant in town that had recently closed and thought it held potential for a future business. Mom called daughter, Sarah Johnson, who was teaching high school in Hillsborough County, and asked if she knew anyone that might be interested in the property. It seemed like a simple question.
Sarah had worked her way through school in local restaurants and knew people in the hospitality industry that just might be a good fit.

Sarah surprised me by suggesting that she would be interested in developing and managing the restaurant as a family business. Now that was interesting…Hours later and creative juices flowing, the two of us pitched the idea to my husband, John Johnson. His reaction was not exactly as enthusiastic as ours. But, with many spreadsheets, projections, and a few sleepless nights later… he was in! We drove full speed ahead and haven’t looked back since.

Six weeks later in August of 2009, The Living Room on Main opened with Executive Chef Anthony Bruno charming guests with his internationally influenced menu of culinary delights. The Living Room is an extension of our home and our love of entertaining with great food, lively conversation, and interesting friends. We invite you to make yourself at home, pull up a barstool, get cozy on the couches, and enjoy.

Executive Chef Tony Bruno creates daily specials to tantalize your taste buds. Our Happy Hour is offered daily from 11am until 7pm, and includes BOGO house wines, domestic draught beers, and calls.
